Last week, 13 pupils attended a residential event at Cardiff University, organised by the School of Welsh. Pupils undertook a range of activities, and slept in university halls to really experience university life as authentically as possible. Activities included Welsh language games, with ‘one pencil, one dice’ proving to be extremely competitive! Pupils were treated to a workshop with Welsh beatboxing champion ‘Mr Phormula,’ and also learned some new moves in a ‘Clocsffit’ session with Tudur Phillips.
Pupils had the opportunity to socialise with pupils from different schools across South Wales, making new friends and taking part in games with these too. Pupils saw the benefit of learning Welsh, and how it could help their future. Rozina Rexha said “This has actually made me want to do Welsh for A Level!”
Pupils behaved amazingly well and were an absolute pleasure to accompany on what was a very successful trip. Diolch to Angharad and the team at Cardiff University for organising; we’d love to attend again next year!
