Fundraising
Charity and Community at Eastern High
At Eastern High, supporting charities is a big part of our school life. Whether we’re raising money, collecting items, or raising awareness, our pupils and staff regularly come together to help others.
We’ve supported a wide range of causes from Wales Air Ambulance, which has helped members of our school community, to national organisations like Macmillan, Marie Curie, and LATCH. Pupils have organised everything from raffles and cake sales to collecting Easter eggs for children in hospital and filling shoeboxes for children around the world.
But it’s not just about fundraising. This work ties directly into the Curriculum for Wales. By getting involved in charity work, our pupils develop important skills like empathy, teamwork, creativity, and leadership. They learn how their actions can make a real difference in their local community and beyond.
It’s also a way for pupils to live out the four purposes of the curriculum: becoming ethical, informed citizens who are ready to play a part in the wider world.
We’re proud of the kindness and commitment our pupils show through their charity work. It’s one of the many ways we help them grow into confident, thoughtful young people.
